Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
First of all I wish you all a very happy New year. In a sense we Christians have only to obey one law, the law of love. That is love God, love thy neighbours as thyself. St. Luke chapter 10, verse 27 says“ Ye shall love the lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength and all with your mind. and your neighbour as yourself”.
This passage teaches us certain lessons about love. How did our Lord demonstrate this love by His words and deeds, healed the sick, befriended the sinners, prayed for his enemies and won them over to him and finally died for us, even though we were yet sinners. Jesus demonstrated that God is love. Jesus revealed God through his incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection.
Jesus taught us to love one another as He has loved us – “ As I have loved you”. That is what our Lord is asking us to do. God is love and St. Paul speaks of love as the greatest gift ( 1 Corinthians 14: 1 ) and as the fruit of the spirit ( Galatians 5: 22 ).
Till the world see Jesus in their own life, the world cannot and will not believe Jesus. He lives in us. Human love is a reflection of something in the divine nature itself. We are never nearer to God unless we love others.
