The true meaning of Easter

Beloved in Christ,

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Easter is an important celebration for Christians. This is the day when Jesus Christ has resurrected. Easter Sunday is one of the most important parts of Christian faith. It promises new hope, new joy and new aspirations. Easter Sunday also marks the end of the Lent session, which starts from Ash Wednesday. During the Lent season fasting, spiritual discipline and repentance are observed. At the end of this season, there is a celebration, as it is believed that Jesus Christ has risen.

Each promise is marked by something empty, an empty cross, an empty tomb, and empty burial clothes. It is the real fact that each of these is empty, which assures us that God’s promises are real as they could not hold Jesus. He could not be contained by the cross, by the tomb or even by the burial clothes. We can be sure of the fullness of God’s promise in our lives.

The promise of the empty cross is that we are all forgiven. Because it was on that cross only Jesus paid the penalty for our sins.

The empty tomb shows the God’s way of saying to us “Relax my child, I took the sting, death can’t hurt you anymore”. Why was the tomb empty?. Because Jesus is alive . The Angel said “He is risen”. And the promise to us is that we too can live even after our death.

The promise of empty burial clothes declare that Jesus is alive and He wants to have fellowship with us. Jesus is a living savior and He desires to have a personal relationship with each one of us.
