Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christian family life is like the garden of Eden in the desert of human existence. It is like a rose among thorns, and a lotus in the muddy pool. The beauty of Christian home ought to shine forth in purity and holiness even in the midst of mud that is evil – depressing or sensual. The secret of this beauty is love, but love needs discipline and cultivation. I Corinthians 13 : 4 – 7 “Love is patient and kind, it is not jealous or conceited or proud, love is not ill mannered or selfish or irritable, love does not keep a record of wrongs, love is not happy with evil, but is happy with truth. Love never gives up and its faith, hope and patience never fails”.
Only when such love, as this, is the mainspring of their love, will husband and wife find perfect happiness.
In many Christian homes, we find poster on the wall , which reads “ Christ is the head of this house”. Those who really believe in this will find real happiness. Those who give Christ the place of honour must witness it by their whole life. They must seek God before any thing else. The various means of grace shall be effectively used. Bible reading, Private devotion, Corporate worship and Holy communion must have their due place in their life.
Christian family should meet together for family worship. All the members of the family should bear witness to the power of our Lord in their lives. We should always remember the words of the apostle “ whether ye eat, drink or what so ever ye do, do all to the glory of God”.
