“Let us be thankful, because we have a kingdom that cannot be shaken. We should worship God in a way that pleases him with respect and fear; because our God is like a fire that burns things up” Hebrews 12:28-29.Life’s uncertainties surely scare each one of us. From time to time many things will go wrong. “You do not know what will happen tomorrow” James 4:14. Our dreams turn into nightmares all of a sudden and our paths become unclear. As days go by, we experience things that are unexpected in life. But if we have faith in our Lord Jesus Christ we sure can master the difficult and dangerous situations. He is our refuge in troubled times. Kneel down and ask for His protection and mercy. He will answer your prayers. Things that are broken get repaired or replaced. He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” Hebrews 13:5.
“Get away from me, all you who do evil, because the Lord has heard my crying. The Lord has heard my cry for help; the Lord will answer my prayer. All my enemies will be ashamed and troubled. They will turn and suddenly leave in shame.” Psalm 6: 8-10.
Believe in Him. Trust in Him despite our concerns and fears. Praise the Lord for His greatness, His mercy, His strength, His care and His goodness. Praise the Lord because he does what is right. He knows our thoughts and feelings. Sing praises to the Lord Most High. Glorifying Him is the beginning of wisdom. With God’s wisdom and power, we do the right thing in our lives. Through His word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God will teach us what is right. His wisdom is pure, peaceable, gentle and merciful. Wisdom does not necessarily come with the age. The modern technology and information can be wonderful tools for the century. Only the Book that tells us about Jesus Christ brings ultimate wisdom to all men. His promises are never broken. His love is unfailing and undying. In Jeremiah 33:3, the Lord says, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know”.
His love is unconditional and the Creator rules forever. “Don’t stand so tall, Daddy.” The little freckled-face boy cried in the supermarket aisle. No matter how many times he pulled on his father’s trouser leg, he couldn’t get any attention. Tears rolled down his face, as his father seemed to ignore his pleas. He cried again, but much louder this time. The man finally leaned down in front of his son and looked at him eye to eye, listening intently.
A smile lit up the little boy’s face, replacing his tears. The child reached out and held his father’s face with his little hands. “I love you, Daddy”, he said. “I love you too, son. “ his father said simply. The man stood up and resumed his shopping. Happy and content, the little boy followed his father’s footsteps. He had only need the assurance of those special words – I love you. We all need our loved ones to come down to our level where we can confide in them. That’s the power of love. Words of love and affection may not come easily, but when they do, they work magic. When we call upon God’s name, He reaches down and communicates with us heart to heart. He shows his love for us through His Word, in the beauty of the universe, and in the miracle of life. When we kneel in prayer, God’s spirit draws near to us to whisper those special words – I love you.
In the past year, we all have had our own share of concerns, anxieties, difficulties, and disappointments. We had endured many hardships. But, He has guided us through the impossibilities and took good care of us, kept us safe and sound, and brought us thus far. He has not left us alone. We have to be thankful. Give thanks; be grateful every day every time in every circumstance. Be thankful for our parents, spouses, beloved children, and our friends. Be more forgiving and compassionate. Be more generous in spirit. Express our thankfulness in every way we can throughout each day. How wondrously He watched over each one of us time and time again. Acknowledge His goodness and mercy. We need HIM every second of the day in everything we do. Our heavenly Father lavished us with riches. Now we have more blessings than we can possibly use up. We must give thanks and praise Him for the countless blessings that overflow in our lives.
May He give us light to guide us, courage to support us, and love to unite us, now and for evermore. We don’t need more to be thankful for, we just need to be more thankful”.
