The Redemption of the Creation

Beloved in Christ,

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the month of February, mostly we think about the creation of God. In the first place, the Garden of Eden that God has given to man is his family. Jesus has given much importance to the members of the family. Here is a thought to be concerned of the family, to love each other and take care of each other. This is visible especially in our relationships as husband, wife, children, parents and brothers with in themselves.

familyofgodThe second Eden is the Church where people those who have received Jesus as savior come together to worship God. The mutual relationship between the believers and their love and concern must be evident in the Church. The boundary of the Garden of Eden is widened much further. That is our society, inclusive of all people. This includes all marginalized people, those who are unloved, sick, hungry, those without dress, destitute, widows and also even our enemies. God has a purpose for man to love and take care of this society. Last but not least, man’s Eden goes further including the animals, birds and all the flora and fauna to be loved and cared for. Man has a message from God to protect them also. Watering a plant, storing water, protecting the earth from garbage and uncontrolled chemical use are also to be taken care of. This is not only the message of the environmentalist but also the spiritual people should also preach and practice the rules to protect the earth. If, at least those who are in the fore front of the spiritual field should have realized these divine purposes, men would have enjoyed the presence of the kingdom of God on earth more powerfully. Paul says that a transformation should happen in every one’s life to realize God’ will. This will of God is total and full of goodness.

The birth of Jesus Christ has brought redemption to the whole creation. This is accomplished through love. As we understand the teaching of this love, we will be able to take care and protect the creation of God. Almost at the last stage of the ministry of Jesus, he gave his disciples an important commandment “ A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” ( John 13: 34, 35). The essence of all commandments is to love one another. Here an ideal model is also given. That is Jesus Christ. Love just as Jesus has loved us. As Jesus Christ has loved men, we should also love one another and do good deeds of love to fulfill the divine purpose of human life.

May the Almighty God Bless you
Yours in Christ
